Post-Punk Monk “Live At the Leeds Warehouse Club” manages to mix live performance and backing tapes for a recording that has some intriguing hybrid vigor. We also manage to add two more songs to the Vicious Pink Phenomena canon and were gifted with that to my ears was the definitive take on the band’s cover version of “Spooky” that really took off for me in this case. about

Vicious Pink Phenomena Live at The Leeds Warehouse 19/03/82.

This is the first time that this show has been released; it was part of our two-week headline UK tour.

The beginning of ‘In The Swim’, is missing because the front of house sound engineer didn't push the faders up, at the start of the song, but we thought the track should still be included in the live album, to make it as authentic as possible. The running order is as the original.

Jose, would do costume changes during ‘Odd One’ and during the songs with longer intros. We wanted our shows to be theatrical performances, art events. A mannequin, we later named Lucy, would be part of the many stage props, even Paul, our roadie, joined us on stage for ‘Maniac’

And of course we really didn’t do Abba cover versions, that’s just banter with Warehouse DJ Ian Dewhirst.

Thanks to; Graeme Robinson, for playing fretless bass, and percussion. Graeme would later in 1984 perform with us again in London, at Camden Palace, and New York City Ritz in December 1984.

Special thanks to Jasè Matthäus for the tape to digital rip.
